Many people tend to dismiss Langeland, considering the fact that its population is considered to be dwindling – perhaps because many of its citizens have decided that they rather liked living in the bigger cities of Denmark more than that particular island. Nevertheless, it should be pointed out that in terms of attractions and sights, Langeland could most definitely compete. As one visitor mentioned, “when the sky is blue in Langeland, it is very, very blue.” That is very true, as true as the sheer beauty of the landscape and its woodlands. Apart from this, however, are the structures; there are many man-made sights to see in Langeland.

On of the most notable sights in Langeland is the preserved Stone Age Barrow in the southern part of the island. The sheer sense of time it evokes is quite overwhelming. Another sight to see is Tranekaer Castle, one of the oldest structures on the island – dating back to the thirteenth century. Not too far away is a rather charming windmill. The harbors and beaches of Bagenkop are also wonderful Langeland sights; they are both entertaining and calming.

In this section of the site, we will be posting some of the most interesting sights to visit and experience in Langeland. Each place will include their own article, some reviews, and a mini-gallery. At the moment, we don't have anything up. But we ask you to check in every once in a while for updates.
